Sears catalog - Corn Cobs, or the Sears Catalog??

Sears catalog- Much of the shopping was done no doubt by my parents from the Sears catalog because after the myth of Santa was "busted" that mail ordering tradition continued. My brother and I got to spend hours looking and deciding what we wanted and Somebody scanned 657 pages from a 1982 Sears Christmas Catalog. 5-String Banjo. We had a Sears catalog "showroom" in Liberty where you could place an order then go down and pick it up, but that wouldn't do for Christmas shopping. So I explained that when I was young, seeing the UPS truck was exciting in the same way that the arrival of the Sears catalog was exciting. Her response: "LOL! Sears catalog! On the way over, we discussed the greatness of the Sears Catalog from when we were kids I missed this two-year-old post from Don Boudreax at Cafe Hayek, but it is an excellent two part look at the 1975 Sears catalog aimed at answering the question, "Are we wealthier today?"
